Where Does God have you?

In life we don’t always have the luxury of seeing things clearly. When I say seeing things clearly, I mean knowing where we are and what God is doing in our life at the moment.

Many times, God may be working on something on the inside of us that needs to be developed or sharpened. You know as long as we are  here on the earth, we can trust God is doing something from the inside out. He is making us more and more like him.

Let me say this with the utmost humility,

We can go quietly or we can go kicking and screaming, complaining or cooperating. The choice is ours.

Voluntarily or Involuntarily.

I tend to believe that God loves us so much that He is willing to make us uncomfortable to get His will done in us and through us to be of service to His kingdom.

See, His agenda is for us to be, become, develop, evolve into something that resembles His nature. Let me give you an example, I’ve been throughout the years the last to experience things that I have prayed and believed in Him for. Do not get me wrong there have been times when God has come through quickly and I thank him for doing that for me.

Then, there are times when I prayed and prayed and prayed and it looked like it wasn’t going to come to pass, or that it wasn’t His will for my life.

You do know that His answer can be NO!

Our asking and/or requesting has to aligned with His will!

“God’s kingdom is like ten young virgins who took oil lamps and went out to greet the bridegroom. Five were silly and five were smart. The silly virgins took lamps, but no extra oil. The smart virgins took jars of oil to feed their lamps. The bridegroom didn’t show up when they expected him, and they all fell asleep.

“In the middle of the night someone yelled out, ‘He’s here! The bridegroom’s here! Go out and greet him!’

“The ten virgins got up and got their lamps ready. The silly virgins said to the smart ones, ‘Our lamps are going out; lend us some of your oil.’

“They answered, ‘There might not be enough to go around; go buy your own.’

“They did, but while they were out buying oil, the bridegroom arrived. When everyone who was there to greet him had gone into the wedding feast, the door was locked.

“Much later, the other virgins, the silly ones, showed up and knocked on the door, saying, ‘Master, we’re here. Let us in.’

“He answered, ‘Do I know you? I don’t think I know you.’

“So stay alert. You have no idea when he might arrive.”

(Matt 25:1-13)

You do know that He knows what is best for us,

our children, those who we love.

Well, back to my point, most often than not, I’ve had to wait on things, to believe God and stand still and trust Him even when I couldn’t see His Hand in the situation at all.

Your question might be what does ready look like. It looks exactly like the 5 virgins who were prepared. The ones who lived in expectation, believing and holding on to the promises of God. See,  believer’s belief, trusting in what God has already set in motion, and revealed.

Staying ready means:

1)    Trusting in His promises.

2)    Believing “God is not a man, that He should lie,
nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Num 23:19)

3)    Knowing what He is allowing is working for us.

"So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God." (Colossians 1:10)

Personally, I have been in a waiting season. This is most uncomfortable and at times uncertain. With waiting comes situations happening which we may not understand. This season means I have to obedient to that which God speaks and leads me to do. Waiting isn’t the worst place to be in God. For the word of God  explains,

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, don’t see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy.”

(Romans 8:18:22)
