You Are Needed

Can we start by saying not based on your feelings or the state that your life may be in today.

You are needed.

When life throws you curve balls and believe me it certainly will.

Your are still needed.

When you are feeling out cast, empty, alone, or set aside.

 You are needed.

Even if you have been the cause of someone’s hurt or pain.

You are still needed.

You may ask, how am I needed if I’ve brought pain into someone’s  life? You’re needed in ways that God wants to show His redemptive power.

Redeemed in the Greek means bought back or ransomed.

He has already paid the price for where we have missed it (sinned) or fallen short. The important thing is the posture of our heart.

Are we asking for forgiveness and choosing to walk in the transforming power of the Holy Spirit?

See, don’t allow the enemy to keep you stuck in a mistake.  Making you feel like you are not needed.

When in fact you are needed.

Your story can change a person’s life. Lift someone out of the miry clay causing them to walk in their God given destiny.

Your testimony, your story is to help someone else. To snatch someone out of darkness into His marvelous light.

“Go home to your friends and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.”

- Mark 5:19

You are needed for reasons you haven’t seen or realized, yet.

See, the word of God speaks in Eph 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

You don’t have to feel needed to know that you are needed. Please, don’t wait for a feeling to overtake you letting you know you are needed. If you are here and breathing,

You are needed.

The Four Friends: In Mark 2, four friends are so desperate to bring their paralyzed companion to Jesus that they destroyed a roof to reach Him, showing the impact of being needed for someone else's healing.

Elijah and the Widow: Elijah is sent to a destitute widow, highlighting how they were mutually needed to survive and sustain faith during a drought.

“But quite the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are [absolutely] necessary; and as for those parts of the body which we consider less honorable, these we treat with greater honor; and our less presentable parts are treated with greater modesty, while our more presentable parts do not require it. But God has combined the [whole] body, giving greater honor to that part which lacks it, so that there would be no division or discord in the body [that is, lack of adaptation of the parts to each other], but that the parts may have the same concern for one another. And if one member suffers, all the parts share the suffering; if one member is honored, all rejoice with it.”(1Cor 12:22-23)

So, when you are feeling unworthy, less than, or the enemy has told you lies concerning who you are.

You are needed.

We need you, if the foot isn’t strong don’t you know that the body will have a limp or won’t be able to walk at all.

You are part of the Body of Christ.

You are needed.

Yes, life will throw you some of the hardest things. That’s why God called us His body. We have nothing without each other. We are community, able to help in a time of need.

We are His hands, feet, and mouthpiece.

Gal 6:2 say’s, “We are to bear one another burdens”

You have gifts inside of you that will be used in your life. As you utilize your gifts God is Glorified. When people ask things like how are you always filled with Joy. You can reply, “it’s the Joy of the Lord that’s on the inside of me.”

You are needed, you have no idea when Jesus will call on you and expect you to respond, because he has prepared you for a moment.

Let me share something with you, I heard a story of a runner. He ran 6-8 miles daily. On his runs he would talk with Jesus the entire time.

Until one day, He heard in his spirit “today is the day”. He didn’t understand at first. As he turned the corner, he heard this lady screaming for help. He immediately went over to her and noticed a lady lying on the ground with a huge hole in her head and she wasn’t responding. In all the excitement he asked everyone to step back, they thought he was a doctor. He said, “I’m not a doctor but I know someone who is”, he began to pray. He laid his hand on her forehead and prayed fervently. The lady opened her eyes.

The ambulance came and said “we see the open wound, however it is covered by a layer of skin”. They were really puzzled. God, had placed a layer of skin to protect the lady and stop the bleeding.

You have no idea when, where, or how God needs you. You may not realize the capacity in which he needs to use you. But, if you’re all stuck in your feelings and closed off from the world and community. How can he use you, and how can you find fulfilment?

Fulfillment is living your life, experiencing life, and embracing life.

You are needed in more ways than you could ever imagine. Yes, there are days you may not want to do anything, I get it.

Ask God for strength, as you go and He will provide exactly what you need.

You are needed for intercession to pray for someone who can’t or doesn’t know to pray for themselves. You are needed to speak life,  Ezekiel was commanded to speak to dry bones and they lived again; you are called to redirect someone who is lost.

Eph 3:17-19 “And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to know this love that surpasses all knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

You are needed! Period

5 ways to get out of a funk or slump

1) Serve others, there are people who need you. Who can use your expertise, experience and wisdom. Besides the fact that serving is one the most fulfilling things you can ever do. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various  forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)

2) Fulfill God’s plan for your life. God needs you to complete that which He has started in your life. He needs you to show up in the way he has gifted you to show up. “For I know the plans I have for you, to prosper you and not to harm you, but to give you a hope and a future.” (Jere 29:11)

3) Gratefulness: being grateful for what God has done, is doing and is going to do in your life will get you out of a funk or slump. A grateful heart sets you up for the Joy of the Lord to overtake you. “When I think of the goodness of God all I can do is Praise Him”

4) Simple things like taking a walk, going to see a movie, going to dinner with friends. Doing something that takes your mind off things that are not uplifting. “Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of much more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life?” (Matt 6:25-27)

5) Trust God’s faithfulness: Trust that He loves you no matter how you feel. Trust in the facts in His word. Trust will increase your faith. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen” (Heb 11:1)
